High Wire Press on the Web

High Wire Press is "a division of the Stanford University Libraries; [it] hosts the largest repository of high impact, peer-reviewed content, with 1185 journals and 4,976,465 full text articles from over 140 scholarly publishers. HighWire-hosted publishers have collectively made 2,005,740 articles free. With our partner publishers we produce 71 of the 200 most-frequently-cited journals." The passage from the site seems to say it all.

Sage Journals Online is offering a trial of free full text access to its 35+ journal titles. Register for free to get access from now until the end of September 2007.

ITP Core Faculty: Rosemarie Anderson's New Site

Dr. Rosemarie Anderson, ITP Core Faculty member, recently launched her new site, Wellknowing Consulting Services. Full text articles are available on topics including intuitive inquiry and embodied writing.



She also includes some wonderful assessment resources: information about the Body Intelligence Scale and the freely accessible Intuition Questionaire.

PsycInfo - Searching by Methodology

Searching for empirical studies, literature reviews, or meta-analyses in PsycInfo is easier than you think.
In CSA, select PsycInfo and click on Continue to Search. Click on the Search Tools tab at the top, then click on the Indexes Tab. Use the Indexes pull-down menu to select the Methodology Index. Click on Go.
A list of the various types of article methods will be listed below.

Checkmark the types of studies you are interested in and click on Search at the left. This will generate a search by methodology. Click on the Quick Search or Advanced Search tab and generate a search on your topic. To combine your topic search with the methodology search, click on Search Tools tab and click on Combine Searches. At the bottom of the screen you will see your searches with their assigned search number. Combine your searches in the search box using their search numbers including # (for example #1 and #2) and click on the green search button.

Browsing a Journal Issue in ProQuest

Did you know there is an easy way to browse through a journal or a particular journal issue online?
Start at the Access Online Databases page. Log in to ProQuest. In ProQuest, simply click on the Publications tab at the top. Find the journal of interest and click on the title. Be sure to take note of whether there is full text available. You will get a list of journal issues from which you can select a particular issue OR you can search for a topic in the chosen journal by choosing the Search Within Publication tab.

Browsing Journals: Ebsco EJS

There are a few ways to browse recent journals in ITP Library databases. One great place to go is Ebsco EJS. Ebsco EJS can be found on the Access Online Databases page. On the Ebsco EJS main page you will find a Quick Journal List on the left side.
Titles include The Arts in Psychotherapy, Child Development, Creativity Research Journal, Cross-Cultural Research, and Journal of Humanistic Psychology. When you find a title of interest, click on it to view or search issues. Keep in mind the full text availability will be indicated by a green checkmark.
