Sylvia Boorstein on the Web

We are very fortunate to be having Sylvia Boorstein as our 2008 Commencement speaker. She is one of the people in the field who really brings mindfulness to life. Her Web presence includes articles, lists of books and audio and a short bio.
She includes a lovely audio lecture about the Metta Sutta - the Buddha’s Sermon on Unconditional Love. There is also a Q & A interview video that you might enjoy.

Wide Range of Subjects in ebrary

A significant amount of the research in Transpersonal Psychology cuts across traditional fields of study, which is just one of the ways in which the field is so interesting. The library's ebook subscription database, ebrary, offers a wide range of texts in many fields to explore and discover. By using the Browse feature, you can drill down by general topic, down to the level of interest.

Second Life

Second Life is a virtual Web environment where you create an avatar who moves and interacts with others on various virtual islands. I have been watching this environment develop for some time now. It takes the psychological nature of fantasy to a new level. You can be whoever or whatever you want to be. You can fly. You can interact with people around the world. You can create a perfect space. And people do.
Are any of you in Second Life? Please share your thoughts about the transpersonal aspects, if you see there are any, of this new kind of environment.
